WICKED RESTLESS by Ginger Scott is finally here! I loved meeting Emma and Andrew and I hope you will too!

WICKED RESTLESS
Very Mature YA Contemporary Romance
Scheduled to release: October 20, 2015

BLURB:

Andrew Harper grew up in a house marked by tragedy. His older brother Owen did his best to shelter him, but you can only be protected from life’s pain for so long. Eventually, you end up just feeling numb…and isolated.

Loneliness was the one constant in Andrew’s life. Until one girl, met by chance in a high school hallway, changed everything. Emma Burke was a mystery and all that was beautiful in this world, the only air Andrew ever wanted to breathe. She took the lonely away, and filled it with hope and color, and Andrew would do anything to keep her safe, happy and whole.

But sometimes, what feels good and right is what ends up hurting us the most. And when Andrew and Emma are faced with an impossible decision, Andrew is tested to see just how far he’s willing to go for the girl who owns his heart.

Cuts are deep.

Scars are left behind.

And revenge beckons.

When Andrew finally gets his chance, in college, five years after his first love broke him completely, he finds out old feelings don’t really disappear just because you say you hate someone. The more he tries to avenge all that he believes he lost, the more he uncovers the real story of what happened years before.

Love is wicked. But a restless heart is never satisfied beating on its own. Can Andrew and Emma make it right before it's too late, or will the ties that bind them now destroy their only chance at a future?

Review

★★★★ 3/4 stars

I first fell in love with Andrew Harper when I met him in Wild Reckless, the book featuring his older brother Owen. I fell in love with him multiple times while reading Wicked Restless. There was just something about everything Emma and Andrew had to go through to find happiness with each other that touched me and I'm sure it'll touch you too.

Andrew is not unaffected by all the drama and fascination surrounding the Harper name. Things have been rough and tough, but he's always been the "good" Harper, even if everyone else thinks otherwise. When Emma moves to town, there's something about her that calls to him and while he knows she's something special, he also likes how she doesn't know about the scandals related to the Harpers. Once she does, it doesn't matter because she knows him and likes him for who he is.

Emma isn't without secrets of her own, but she's a sweet kid. I loved seeing her try new things and be adventurous. Andrew and Emma together as teenagers were so sweet. I loved seeing them together. There was an air of innocence around them. Even though they didn't get very far in their relationship, the bond between them was strong. I will admit to being devastated when things beyond their control separated them; I was heartbroken for them and hoped things would be resolved between them quickly.

However, when they met again, both were changed. Andrew was hurting and the sweetness in him was gone. He was so hard it hurt sometimes seeing him, especially since I knew how he had been, but when I came to know what it was that'd changed him, my heart wept for him. Yes he changed, but he had to in order to survive. I understood his anger and frustration when it came to Emma. I may not have liked some of what he did in his anger and need for revenge, but I knew why and understood his logic. Emma still had some of her youthful sweetness, but she was beginning to look at people and things around her and see not everything was as nice and good as it looked.

This book is about so much more than young love. It's about second chances, forgiveness, and fighting for what you want. It's touching, moving, and packed with emotion. Once I started reading, I didn't stop until the book was finished. I couldn't put it down. It was almost perfect. I would've liked more details about how things were handled for those who harmed Andrew and Emma. It seemed almost anticlimactic after all that had happened to them.

I've been anticipating Andrew's story from the first moment I met him. Ginger Scott delivered a story that fully realized his potential. If you're looking for a book where the hero will do anything for those he loves and a page turner with heart and substance, this book is for you. Just thinking about what Emma and Andrew experienced makes my chest tighten. On a happier note I was very happy to see Owen and Kensi doing so well. While I am sad to see the Harper Boys series end, I am already eagerly looking forward to Ginger Scott's next book.
